Snapping Shoals EMC’s Trust Board, which oversees the funds for Operation Round, recently awarded $10,000 to Henry County’s Youth Leadership program. Youth Leadership Henry participants are taught leadership skills while learning about the various government, economic and social sectors of the community. Pictured are Henry County Youth Leadership Board members Lindsey Sanders, second from left, Lyndsay Theado, Reggie Ammons, Tricia Coltpetzer and Susan Howington with SSEMC employee Keith Adams, left, who also serves on the Henry County Youth Leadership Board, and SSEMC Board Chairman Jake Carter, right.
Snapping Shoals EMC’s Operation Round Up program offers a way for SSEMC members to help neighbors for what generally amounts to small change – whatever it takes to round up their power bill to the next dollar. Contributions range from a penny to 99 cents per month, an average of just $6 a year. The money raised is used to directly support social, charitable and civic programs in our community, as well as individuals in need of assistance.
