Thank you for expressing interest in Operation Round Up. Operation Round Up is designed to assist individuals or families with special or emergency needs when help is not available from other sources. These funds are also available to assist organizations with various needs in the communities served by Snapping Shoals EMC.
ORGANIZATION APPLICATION GUIDELINES
1. Contributions may be made to other charitable organizations when these funds are used to assist Operation Round Up in carrying out its mission. All recipient organizations must acknowledge funding support from Operation Round Up in their publicity.
2. Applications will not be accepted from schools. (Schools should seek funding through the Bright Ideas grant program.)
3. Be sure to write the dollar amount you are requesting and specify its purpose. (Round Up does not consider requests for salaries.)
4. Organizations must request only the amount necessary to support the specific project or initiative outlined in their application by providing a detailed project budget and plan for fund use. Funds must be used as approved. Any surplus must be reported and may be subject to return or reallocation.
5. Applications must include:
• 990 Form (if applicable)
• The latest financial statement
• The most recent audit report, and
• A copy of the organization’s tax-exempt status letter.
6. Organizations must demonstrate that executive and management salaries are reasonable and aligned with their mission and values.
• Applicants must submit current financial statements with a detailed breakdown of salary expenses.
• Operation Round Up may request additional documentation to verify salary appropriateness
• Misrepresentation of financial information can result in disqualification from current and future funding opportunities.
• Noncompliance may lead to denial, revocation of grants, or loss of eligibility.
7. Applicants are not allowed to attend Trust Board meetings.
8. Priority will be given to organizations located in Snapping Shoals EMC’s service area (Newton, Rockdale, DeKalb, Henry, Butts, Walton, Jasper, and Morgan counties). National organizations may apply only if funding is restricted to local chapters serving these counties.
9. Operation Round Up will not fund organizations seeking to use awarded funds for scholarships, grants, or other pass-through financial assistance. Funding must support direct services or programs that align with the Snapping Shoals Electric Trust’s mission.
